East Cheshire NHS Trust is proud to support the armed forces community and is pleased to announce its recent signing of the Armed Forces Covenant.
Special tree planting ceremony at Congleton War Memorial Hospital
A special tree planting ceremony has taken place at Congleton War Memorial Hospital, which is part of East Cheshire NHS Trust.
Three flowering Cherry Trees were planted in the grounds of the hospital which will form part of the UK-wide Queen’s Green Canopy to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. Congleton Town Council is planting 70 flowering Cherry Trees – one for each year of the Queen’s reign – which are being planted across the town by the voluntary group ‘Trees for Congleton.’

East Cheshire Staff Nurse ‘in the driving seat’ for prestigious Formula Woman competition
East Cheshire NHS Trust staff nurse, Tara Richardson has taken things up a gear after being selected as a finalist in the prestigious Formula Woman competition.
Tara, who works on a cardiology ward at Macclesfield Hospital faced strong competition to secure her position, beating more than 800 applicants from 28 different countries to make it through to the final 50.
Thank you to 1st Battalion Scots Guards
As part of the Greater Manchester response to the national Level 4 Covid-19 alert, the trust has benefitted from the support of 11 military personnel from the 1st Battalion Scots Guards this week. To assist staff with front line services, the soldiers have been undertaking a range of duties including collection of medication and equipment, transporting patients, helping at patient mealtimes, administrative tasks, talking to patients, answering ward telephones and making staff drinks.
Strong performance for East Cheshire NHS Trust in the latest Children and Young People’s Patient Experience Survey
East Cheshire NHS Trust has been rated as ‘better than expected’ for the experiences of children and young people aged eight to 15 in the latest CQC survey published on December 9th 2021. Children and young people in this age group answered positively across the entire survey and placed the Trust above the national average.
