Temporary Suspension of X-ray Service at Congleton War Memorial Hospital

30 August 2024

Please note, the X-ray service at Congleton War Memorial Hospital has now been temporarily suspended, as work progresses on the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at the site.

The X-ray area at the site has been closed for the next phase of the project, as it is part of the footprint where the new centre will be built.

The X-ray service at Congleton is expected to resume in Spring 2025, with the opening of the new CDC.

Patients who would usually access X-ray services at Congleton between now and the CDC opening, will instead be referred to Macclesfield District General Hospital or Knutsford Community Hospital to access the X-ray services at these sites. Our staff will be able to assist with any necessary referrals or arrangements.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to improve our diagnostic services and bring them closer to home for people in Congleton and its surrounding areas.

The new CDC will deliver various diagnostic services including imaging; X-ray and Non-Obstetric Ultrasound (NOUS); and Cardio-Respiratory physiological testing such as Electrocardiography (ECG), Echocardiograms and other physiological tests.

If you have been referred for an X-ray, and require further information or assistance, please contact: ecn-tr.radiology@nhs.net
