East Cheshire NHS Trust has been listed in the top 5 for most improved survey results from 2021 - 2022 across the country.
The NHS Staff survey is one of the largest workforce surveys in the world and is carried out every year to improve staff experiences across the NHS.
Results from the 2022 NHS Staff Survey were published on 9th March and show that East Cheshire NHS Trust has been rated as a great place to work, scoring better than or equivalent to its sector group across all NHS People Promises which cites the national strategic NHS promise to ‘work together to improve the experience of working in the NHS for everyone.’
Rachael Charlton, Director of People and Culture & Deputy CEO at East Cheshire NHS Trust said, “I’m delighted to see that the NHS Staff Survey results for 2022 highlighted that we are one of the best trusts to work for in terms of how we support our workforce, notably work-life balance and providing a respectful and kind working environment.
“The survey is hugely valuable in helping us understand how our employees feel about working here so that we can continue to evolve and ensure our staff are as happy as they can be. Findings have shown that improvements to our education offer, compassionate leadership and our wellbeing offering have all been noted as key areas of strength.
“Whilst we recognise the many positives, the NHS continues to be a particularly challenging environment to work in with results also showing that staffing levels are impacting upon the risk of burnout. However saying that this latest survey was conducted during October when we were experiencing another wave of COVID combined with the flu virus, and despite the additional pressures this brought staff were still very positive about their workplace.
“Staffing is continually a significant focus for the NHS and we maintain our commitment to further address staffing levels and support our people in the coming 12 months so that we can provide the best possible care to our patients.
“I would like to formally recognise and thank all staff working within hospital, community and corporate services and our volunteers for continuing to provide good quality care despite all the challenges we have had to face this year.”
