Katherine Sheerin will be leaving her role of Director of Transformation and Partnerships at East Cheshire NHS Trust at the end of December to take up the position of Chief Commissioning Officer at NHS Greater Manchester ICB.
Ged Murphy, Chief Executive Officer at East Cheshire NHS Trust, said: “Katherine is a highly valued member of the Trust Board and widely respected across the Cheshire and Merseyside system. Whilst it is sad for us to say goodbye to Katherine, it is testament to our culture of personal growth that Katherine is moving onto such a pivotal role. As well as the strategic projects Katherine has led internally, her legacy will also include the impact she has made across the system in creating and strengthening partnerships to improve health and service delivery. Katherine epitomises our Trust values and will be very much missed.”
“Katherine’s new role as Chief Commissioning Officer at NHS Greater Manchester ICB will harness Katherine’s extensive experience in shaping and delivering better services to patients across Greater Manchester; and she will play a key role in commissioning functions that support the delivery of reducing health inequalities and improve health.”
Katherine Sheeran added in her own words: “It’s an honour to have been offered the position of Chief Commissioning Officer for NHS Greater Manchester and I am very much looking forward to starting in the New Year and meeting my colleagues. I have not taken the decision to explore something new lightly though. The past three years at East Cheshire have been one of the best periods of time in my career, primarily because of the people here at ECT and in the local system. Whilst I am sad in many ways to be leaving, I go with wonderful memories of great colleagues and friends, who go out of their way to do their best for patients every day. I’m looking forward to the next chapter, working within the Greater Manchester system, to serve their local population and to improve their health and strengthen service delivery.
